The Serfauser Murmliwasser is a 15,000 m² area and is located below the middle station of the Komperdellbahn. The torrent flowing there was not changed for ecological reasons, but included as a central element of experience in this area. The guiding figure of the entire area is "Murmli", the traditional Serfauser children's mascot, which owes its name to the abundant marmots in the area.

The play park consists of numerous interactive stations, which are grouped around the torrent. There is a clay pond, lace pumps, sand play areas and Tänzelsteine, landslide hills and water stairs, a Murmli spiral, a rock labyrinth, playhouses and a Murmli lighthouse, at the foot of which is also a picnic area. With stone dams and even planned diversions, the area can be made even more exciting.
In the middle of a pond there is a walk-in marmot cave. A cave system over 200 meters in length provides insight into the hidden habitat of the Earth dwellers. Underground marmots live in darkness and so it is also dark in the marmot cave. If you fear for your own orientation while roaming the corridors and caves that are about one meter high, you can breathe a sigh of relief, because every 15 to 20 meters there is a shaft back to the open air.

In the immediate vicinity of the Murmli water there is a marmot enclosure with real marmots. Five to six in number show there the small and large guests.

At the center of the park is a relaxation area with sun loungers for the parents brought by the children. It is raised and gives a clear view of all game stations. So the parents can also follow the loudly discharged mud fight in the clay pond - and may not intervene. After all, this is the world of children.

Tip: parents should pack their towels and spare clothes for their children, because wet and dirty the offspring can of course be playing with water - but that may and should be so!

Dear guests and friends of the Hotel Maximilian,

Unfortunately, the corona pandemic and its effects are forcing us, despite the impending easing and reopening possibilities, to make a decision that is really not easy for us with regard to the upcoming summer season.
Due to many unforeseeable and plannable situations, the management decided not to open the Hotel Maximilian in the upcoming summer season. This "not opening" in summer is very difficult for us, but unfortunately it cannot be avoided.

We ask for your understanding and would like to thank all guests who had planned to spend their summer vacation with us in the next few weeks. We would be very happy to see you again maybe in winter.

All the best and stay healthy.

Your Hotel Maximilian

TIP: Book your winter holiday in the "Maximilian" by September 30th and look forward to one
